Abstract Expressionist Painter Roseanne Jones

My style and inner voice is – Text Expressionism, a form of Abstract Expressionism. I use my own personal hand writing, creating a contemporary, modern feel. My contrasts include textured / smooth, controlled / loose, light / dark. I use a limited color palette 2 – 3 in each piece. I use a range of painting tools including a palette knife, different size paint brushes, rollers & occasionally I get stuck in with my hands, there’s nothing like feeling like a child again!. The subjects I cover include; personality types, feelings, emotions, disorders, mental illnesses, youth subcultures + heaps more. Everyone I know has their own issues and problems and these problems enter my life in some way or another. It is easy to get effected by others issues. My paintings are away for me to express myself without burdening others. Painting is a way for me to express my own issues, fears & desires, my own self expression, so you could say in investing in my art you are buying a piece of me :-) My paintings have a decorative element to them and once you step back and take the time to look into the painting it becomes more meaningful; words sometimes appear and step out at you. Each person takes out what they want depending on their life experiences.
